LL48 - 8X10 Reprint "4 Miles to Citra"
This reprint of an original 22X28 acrylic, is 8X10 and matted with site description on the back. The matted size is 11X14 and is signed. Four Miles to Citra is a painting of a sign I go by whenever I travel South from Jacksonville to Ocala. I love the Orange Store and can remember a time when roadside citrus was abundant and permanent in Florida. There were miles of groves from South Florida to North Florida. After the freeze of 1983 the citrus industry in Central and North Florida was permanently destroyed, except for a few groves. The Orange shop opened for business before World War II. Travelers would stop on US Highway 301 to grab a bag of Florida Sunshine to take home. When I was little I loved nothing better than a bottle of orange blossom perfume. The Orange Shop continues to sell a wonderful array of citrus and citrus products. It reminds me of days gone by whenever I see this sign and I know it's only 4 miles to Citra!
